This is my lovable 3 year old European German Shepherd: Gaia. Yes named after the Final Fantasy terminology for the soul of the planet. =]
She was born from a litter of puppies whose names had to begin with the letter G and she was the firstborn out of the litter. =]
Gaia: The living, self aware, spirit of earth. The Greek Goddess of the Earth, the name Gaia is used as a representation of Mother Earth and the idea that the planet and everything on it (including us) exists in a symbiotic relationship with each other. Our survival is dependant on the survival of the planet and its ecosystems. James Lovelock’s Gaia Hypothesis offers scientific evidence in support of the idea of homeostasis in Mother Earth.
